city centre

discover the multicultural long street with plenty of bars and shops located in majestic victorian houses, funky kloof street full of restaurants and boutiques, the colourful bo-kaap, the companys garden where you can feed squirrels and under which trees you can relax, the government buildings and lots of museums and the planetarium.

v&a waterfront

the famous waterfront is a world in its own and offers a huge shopping mall, excellent restaurants and entertainment by musicians next to the ocean. do not miss to visit the aquarium and the craft market.

table mountain

a visit of cape town’s landmark is one of the highlights of your trip to south africa. the cable car can bring you up and down the mountain comfortably. if you like hiking, you can also climb table mountain in about 90 minutes and be rewarded by an awesome view from the top. during the summer months, the ‘sunset special’ brings you up the mountain for half the regular rate.

lions head

the `small` brother right next to table mountain is a fantastic hike with panaroma view. this hike is especially popular during sunset and full moon.

signal hill

if you would like to have comfortably a great view over cape town, just take a drive to signal hill and enjoy the great scenery.

world cup soccer stadium in green point

the newly built stadium in the city centre was finished right in time for the soccer world cup that took place in june 2010. you can visit it on a tour.

cape of good hope

on the way from elements to the cape of good hope you can see plenty of things: the fantastic botanical gardens of kirstenbosch, the oldest winery of cape town in constantia, the colourful bath houses on muizenberg’s beach, the artist village kalk bay with its antique shops and trendy restaurants, the penguin colony at boulder’s beach, an ostrich farm, the famous coastal road ‘chapmans peak drive’ and the seals in hout bay.

only two hours drive from elements you can experience the big 5 live in a private game reserve. accommmodation in the 4* hotel is available.

townships

during a visit to the townships of cape town you get to know the history of the poor communities and are delighted by the warmth and joy you feel. accommodation in a b&b can be organized.

great white shark

in gansbaai, about 150 minutes drive from elements, you come close to great white sharks through a cage and get to know lots of information about these hardly discovered marine creatures.

southern right whales

hermanus is one of the best places in the world to see whales from the shore. you reach this coastal town in only 90 minutes drive from elements and from august to november whale viewings are guaranteed. with a bit of luck you can also see whales and dolphins on our bloubergstrand.

wineries

just a few minutes drive from elements you reach the durbanville wine valley that is famous for its great sauvignon blanc. the wineries of paarl, stellenbosch and franschhoek are also discovered in easy day trips from elements. the first few tastings will make sure you fall in love with south africa’s excellent wine culture.

west coast national park

one hour drive north of elements you meet ostriches, lots of different species of buck and turtles in this coastal national park. the amazing and crystal clear lagoon invites for a swim and in august and september the park is covered by colourful flower carpets.

robben island

a visit to this island where nelson mandela was kept in prison for 18 years is both impressive and very informative. the tour starts and ends at the v&a waterfront and includes the return boat trip to the island, a visit to the prison and a tour around the island. from the boat you also have a great view on cape town and sometimes even see dolphins.

kirstenbosch botanical gardens

the magnificent garden is a great visit for plant lovers. kirstenbosch is also a great place to chill under the shady trees on hot summer days. if you are in cape town on sundays during the summer months, do not miss one of the fantastic sunset concerts that take place weekly at kirstenbosch. bring your picnic and a savanna and enjoy the music.
